Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Roofing in Missouri

As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor in Missouri, SRA Roofing & Gutters can offer homeowners the manufacturer's highest warranty tier: Platinum Protection. It covers qualifying roofing materials and installation workmanship, with Owens Corning backing the workmanship itself.

That gives you something most roofing warranties do not: protection that goes beyond the shingles.

SRA offers Platinum Protection through our roofing teams in Southwest and Mid-Missouri, including Springfield, Branson, Jefferson City, and surrounding communities.

What Platinum Preferred Status Means

Platinum Preferred is Owens Corning's highest contractor tier. It allows SRA to offer and register the Platinum Protection warranty, which lower contractor tiers cannot provide.

Owens Corning has several tiers for the roofers who install its shingles. Preferred Contractor is the certified middle level. Platinum Preferred sits at the top.

A roofer can't buy its way to Platinum. Owens Corning looks at:

  • A track record with Owens Corning: at least one year as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor first
  • Time in business: at least three years
  • Good standing: including BBB and financial standing
  • Customer satisfaction scores from homeowners
  • Ongoing factory training for the people doing the work
  • Installation quality: Owens Corning conducts a random job-site inspection every year

The status is not permanent. Contractors have to continue meeting Owens Corning's standards to keep the Platinum Preferred designation.

Fewer than 1% of roofing contractors nationwide reach this tier.

For you, that means the credential reflects more than access to a product line. Owens Corning continues to evaluate the contractor behind the warranty.

Owens Corning is one of several manufacturer certifications held across SRA's Missouri roofing companies, and it provides the longest manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage SRA can offer.

“Very happy I chose Storm Restorations to replace my roof shingles. Great reliable personal, quality products, fantastic installation. Great follow up to make sure we were satisfied with all aspects of their work. Highly recommend company.”

What Platinum Protection Covers

Every Owens Corning shingle comes with a standard warranty. Platinum Protection goes further by adding stronger material and workmanship coverage on qualifying roofing systems.

1. Materials and Labor for up to 50 Years

Owens Corning calls this the TruPROtection® period.

If a covered roofing component fails because of a manufacturing defect, the warranty covers qualifying labor to repair or replace it, including tear-off and disposal.

The Duration® shingle series carries the full 50-year non-prorated period on qualifying single-family homes. Other product lines vary.

2. Workmanship Coverage for as Long as You Own the Home

If an installation error causes a leak or affects how your roof performs, Platinum Protection covers qualifying labor, materials, tear-off, and disposal.

Workmanship coverage is full for the first 25 years and prorated after that.

3. Coverage Beyond the Shingles

Qualifying Owens Corning roofing components installed as part of the system share the shingle's TruPROtection® period.

The warranty does not cover non-Owens Corning components such as flashing, fasteners, pipe boots, or wood decking as products. Covered workmanship repairs may include necessary flashing work.

How Owens Corning Warranty Tiers Compare

Not every Owens Corning roof carries Platinum Protection.

The warranty you receive depends on the contractor tier, roofing system, and warranty level selected for the project.

Applies to qualifying shingles with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on a single-family detached home. System warranties require qualifying Owens Corning components. See the actual warranty for complete terms.

Platinum Protection requires four Owens Corning components in addition to the shingles: Owens Corning Hip & Ridge and Owens Corning Underlayment (both required), plus two more Owens Corning accessories, such as starter, leak barrier, or ventilation.

If you want Platinum Protection, make sure that exact warranty name appears on your estimate. An "Owens Corning warranty" can also mean the standard warranty that comes with the shingles.

“They were great to work with. They explained my options well ahead of starting the work. I was very pleased with the job they did and the communication they provided during the working process.”

Who Stands Behind the Work Years Later?

A material warranty and a workmanship warranty protect you from two different problems.

The shingle itself can be fine while an installation error causes a leak years later. A standard shingle warranty does not cover that type of workmanship problem.

Most roofing companies provide their own workmanship warranty. That promise depends on the contractor remaining in business and standing behind its work.

Platinum Protection adds manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage.

The installing contractor covers qualifying workmanship claims for the first two years. After that, Owens Corning covers qualifying workmanship claims directly.

SRA roofs also carry SRA's separate 5-year workmanship warranty, giving homeowners another layer of installation coverage.

That matters in Missouri, where major hail seasons often bring temporary out-of-state roofing crews into the area. Platinum Preferred status requires an established track record, ongoing training, and continued qualification.

“Mark and Robin came to my home, they did warranty work and a roof inspection. Was a very challenging roof, they went above and beyond to complete the work! Highly recommend these guys! Thank you SRA roofing!”

Owens Corning Shingle Options for Your Roof

Most SRA Owens Corning roofs use TruDefinition® Duration® or TruDefinition® Duration FLEX® shingles, but SRA can install other Owens Corning lines as well.

You can compare options based on your budget, impact resistance, appearance, and warranty goals.

  • Duration is an architectural shingle with Owens Corning's SureNail® Technology, a reinforced nailing strip that helps shingles hold in high wind. It carries a Class 3 impact rating.
  • Duration FLEX is made with SBS polymer-modified asphalt, which keeps the shingle flexible. It meets UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating for shingles. That's a strong fit for Missouri hail. In some areas, a Class 4 roof may qualify for an insurance premium discount. Ask your insurance agent.

Every Owens Corning shingle comes with a 10-year non-prorated standard period.

If you want stronger coverage, ask about System Protection, Preferred Protection, or Platinum Protection. The warranty tier you choose should appear by name on your written estimate.

How to Verify Platinum Preferred Status

You do not have to take a roofer's word for it.

Owens Corning lets homeowners verify certified contractors through its contractor locator.

Before choosing a Platinum Protection roof:

  • Look up the contractor in Owens Corning's contractor locator.
  • Confirm the listing says Platinum Preferred.
  • Make sure "Platinum Protection" appears on your estimate if that is the warranty you want.

"Owens Corning warranty" by itself is not specific enough. It may only mean the standard warranty that comes with the shingles.

How Your Platinum Protection Roof Comes Together

  • We inspect and document your roof first. You get a free inspection with photos and a written report of your roof's condition. That record is yours to keep.
  • You pick your shingle and ask for your warranty. We walk through the Owens Corning lines and warranty tiers in plain terms. Ask for Platinum Protection and your written estimate will name it. Otherwise, your roof carries Owens Corning's standard warranty.
  • We install a full Owens Corning system. Platinum Protection requires four Owens Corning components in addition to the shingles: Owens Corning Hip & Ridge and Owens Corning Underlayment (both required), plus two more Owens Corning accessories, such as starter, leak barrier, or ventilation. The crew installs them to Owens Corning's specs.
  • We register your warranty. SRA registers Platinum Protection with Owens Corning within 90 days of your install, and you receive the warranty certificate.
  • You keep one clean file. Your inspection report, photos, and warranty certificate go together. If you ever sell, a buyer can see exactly what's on the roof and what covers it.

“We would absolutely hire SRA Roofing & Gutter again and recommend them to all our family and friends. Our project manager (Anthony and Nicholas) kept us informed from the initial quote to the final inspection. The initial quote was accurate with no added fees, and they keep us updated through the process. SRA insurance specialist (Chris) worked with our insurance adjustor on getting the additional storm damaged gutters replaced. SRA office staff (Bailey, Meagan and Alexceia)) were always polite, professional and directed our question to the appropriate team member. The roofing crew did a great job on the installation of the new roof, and the gutter team (Damian's team) was A+. Our new roof, skylights and gutters look fantastic.”
